Academically strong students comparing overseas study against some of the best universities in Asia.
28–31 October 2027

A free virtual university fair for students across Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuching and beyond, in a market that understands transnational education better than most.
The Malaysia Online Study Expo is a free virtual university fair held from 28 to 31 October 2027 as part of the World Study Expo online programme. Students across Malaysia can attend live university sessions and book one-to-one video meetings with international admissions representatives.
Malaysian students are unusually literate about international education, because the country has spent decades hosting it. Branch campuses of foreign universities operate here, and twinning and credit-transfer arrangements are a well-understood route rather than an exotic option. Students routinely ask which part of a degree can be taken locally and which part abroad.
That sophistication is an opportunity. A recruiter who can explain articulation, credit transfer and split-delivery options precisely will find a receptive audience. One who can only sell a three-year residential degree is working against how this market already thinks.

One free registration covers every edition in the programme.

Students will ask how much of their existing diploma or foundation year transfers, and they will compare institutions on the answer. Universities with clear, published credit-transfer policies hold a measurable advantage over those that assess case by case with no indicative guidance.
Because foreign universities already deliver degrees in Malaysia at lower cost, the overseas option is priced against a known local benchmark. The justification usually has to rest on the full campus experience, work rights, or access to something the branch campus does not teach.
Destination preferences are not uniform across communities, and neither are subject preferences. Institutions that assume a single national profile tend to pitch too narrowly.
Students in Malaysia interested in studying in the UK, Australia or Ireland can discuss those destinations with participating universities during the Malaysia online edition on 28–31 October 2027, including twinning and top-up routes that combine study at home with a final period abroad. The decisive number is usually how much of an existing diploma or foundation programme the university will recognise.
Bring your transcript to the appointment so credit transfer can be discussed specifically. Our guides to the UK and Australia cover how degrees, intakes and funding are structured in each.
Ask exactly how many credits of your diploma or foundation year transfer, which year of the degree you would enter, whether a twinning or top-up arrangement exists with a Malaysian institution, what English requirement applies to SPM, STPM or diploma holders, and how tuition changes if you enter with advanced standing.
Register once, shortlist, then meet universities by video across four days.
One registration covers every World Study Expo edition.
Subject, level, intended intake and preferred destinations.
Programmes, entry requirements, tuition, scholarships and brochures.
Add universities to a wishlist before the week opens.
Reserve video appointments, subject to each institution's availability.
University presentations and open question sessions across four days.
Leave with entry requirements, deadlines and a named contact.
Credit transfer is the question that changes your total cost most, and no institution can answer it without seeing what you have already completed. Have your diploma, foundation results or partial degree transcript ready on screen.
An indicative answer in a meeting is useful; the same answer by email is what you can actually plan around. Ask for it before the call ends.
Work out what the same degree costs delivered locally, then ask each overseas institution what the difference buys you.

The single most effective preparation for recruiting in Malaysia is a clear statement of what credit you will grant for local diplomas, foundation programmes and partial degrees. It is the question that determines whether a student can afford your degree at all.
Top-up and final-year entry routes are particularly well received, because they fit an established local pattern rather than asking students to abandon study already completed.
Request the exhibitor brochure for the Asia week, including the appointment model, formats and how countries combine.
Yes. Registration and attendance are free for students and parents across Malaysia.

Yes, and this is one of the most common reasons Malaysian students attend. Ask each institution directly what credit they grant and whether they accept students at year two or final-year entry.
It varies by institution and country. Ask for an indicative answer during your meeting and request it in writing, as it materially changes the total cost of your degree.
A fair question to put directly to exhibitors. The usual arguments are the full campus experience, post-study work rights, and access to programmes or facilities the branch campus does not offer. Test them.
Several institutions offer them. They are a well-established route from Malaysian diplomas and can significantly reduce total cost.
Yes. Ask by name about specific awards, their value, eligibility and deadlines.
