What is the Maldives Online Study Expo?
The Maldives Online Study Expo is a free virtual university fair held from 28 to 31 October 2027 as part of the World Study Expo online programme. Students across the Maldives can join live sessions and book one-to-one video meetings with international admissions representatives, without leaving the islands.
The Maldives is the smallest market in the programme and the one where distance matters most. Students are distributed across atolls where travelling even to Male is a considered undertaking, and no international university is going to hold a recruitment fair there. Online delivery is not the convenient option; it is the only one.
The economy is heavily oriented towards tourism and hospitality, and that shapes what students study. Government scholarship schemes also play a significant role in enabling overseas study, which makes recognition and approval an early question.
