When is World Study Expo Abu Dhabi 2027?
World Study Expo Abu Dhabi 2027 takes place on Wednesday 22 September 2027, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It is the opening event of the UAE week, entry is free for students, parents and school counsellors, and the venue will be announced before the event.
The UAE week opens in the capital, and it opens midweek on purpose. A larger share of attendance in Abu Dhabi arrives as an organised school visit rather than a family outing, and schools can only release students on a teaching day. Counsellors bring cohorts, universities meet an entire Grade 12 year group in sequence, and the conversations are more structured than at a weekend fair.
Abu Dhabi also has a different funding conversation. A meaningful share of students here are looking at sponsored or scholarship-supported study, whether through government programmes, employer sponsorship or family arrangements tied to sectors the capital is built on. That changes the questions universities are asked. Recognition, accreditation and whether a sponsor will approve a particular institution come up far earlier in the conversation than they do elsewhere in the UAE.
The edition also serves Al Ain and the wider Western Region, where families have fewer local opportunities to meet international admissions staff face to face.

Career paths are anchored to the capital's industries
Energy, aerospace, defence, healthcare, public administration and increasingly technology and sustainability shape what students choose to study, because those are the sectors that visibly employ graduates around them. Course conversations that connect to those destinations land better than generic subject overviews.
A higher proportion of national students
Compared with Dubai, a larger share of attendees are Emirati nationals. This affects everything from preferred destinations and accommodation questions to the importance of on-campus provision for religious observance and family visits. The case for exhibiting in the capital
Abu Dhabi is smaller than Dubai and more concentrated. For institutions whose strengths sit in engineering, energy, health sciences, aerospace or public policy, the alignment with what students here are actually planning to study is unusually strong.
The school-led attendance pattern is the other reason to be here. Meeting counsellors in person creates a channel that keeps producing applicants after the event, which is difficult to build remotely and difficult to replicate at a weekend consumer fair.
Because Abu Dhabi opens the week on the Wednesday, it combines naturally with Sharjah on the Thursday and Dubai across the weekend. Institutions travelling to the UAE generally find it more efficient to take all three than to select one.

Why is the Abu Dhabi edition held on a weekday?

Can my school bring a group?
Yes. Group registration is available for schools, and we provide a suggested route around the exhibition by subject area along with time for counsellors to meet admissions staff.
Is the event only for Emirati students?
No. It is open to all students in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region, whatever their nationality or curriculum.
My study will be sponsored. What should I check with universities?
Ask about accreditation, whether the institution appears on your sponsor's approved list, and whether they can provide documentation in the format your sponsor requires. Settle this before discussing course detail.
I live in Al Ain. Is it worth travelling to Abu Dhabi for this?
For most students, yes. Opportunities to meet international admissions staff face to face are limited outside the main cities, and one day at the exhibition replaces a great deal of email.

Yes. Masters and doctoral routes, particularly in engineering, energy, health sciences and public policy, are a significant part of the Abu Dhabi edition.
Should I also attend the Dubai edition?
